Cold Weekend! Brrrrr!

It was a cold, but sunny weekend. The current temperature is 16 degrees!! Friday night Dave and Tuula came over and watched the kids while Bryce and I went to the Reba/Kelly Clarkson concert. We had a great time and I think Bryce enjoyed it more than he'd like to admit. The remainder of the weekend we spent doing little things here and there...cleaning, a few home improvements, shopping, laundry, etc. Nothing too exciting. Landen is feeling great...he is back to normal. Bryce and I think during the ten days of no eating he forgot what he likes and doesn't like. He ate chicken and broccoli this week!! Presley is doing better but she still has a nasty cough. I'm hoping she will be back to normal soon too. Tomorrow is MLK day and I'm off...yeah!!!!!!

Birthday weekend

Saturday was my birthday and we went to dinner at Bonefish with Elizabeth and Shadd. We had a great time and a wonderful meal. The flour-less brownie for dessert was SO good!! Bryce bought tickets for my birthday to go see Reba and Kelly Clarkson next Friday...so I'm looking forward to another fun night next weekend.

Landen is back to normal...but now Presley is sick! She has symptoms of RSV but were not for sure that's what it is. I feel so bad for her...her nose is running, she's coughing, she has a temperature and is very tired. We may be back at the doctor again this week. I wish this flu season would end soon.

The Doctor said...

We followed up with the doctor today and he said it may take a while for him to get back to normal. They weighed him and he has lost two pounds since last week. I wasn't surprised by that because he has had very little to eat since January 1st. Tonight he had two Saltine crackers for dinner! He went to school for most of the day and they said he did pretty good. The doctor wants us to follow up again in about 6 weeks with another visit and x-ray. He said they typically follow pneumonia until the very end. Thanks for all the prayers!!

A long road...

It's been a long road getting Landen back to normal. We're getting better but he's not feeling 100% yet. His temperature still goes up about midday and he's not eating much. Today he had a 1/2 hotdog and one oreo cookie. Tomorrow I'm taking him back to the doctor for a follow-up visit. This is Presley's second week at school. They tell me she loves her swing! The picture above is of Landen in Presley's Bumbo seat. He's back to his old tricks!

Rough weekend

On Friday, we took Landen to the Urgent Care Center and found out he has pneumonia. They gave him a shot and sent us home with some prescriptions. Friday night was rough and Saturday was not much better. We couldn't keep his temperature down and he was in pain so we took him to the ER. They took more xrays and gave him another shot. Because he hasn't had anything much to eat since last Monday they tried to give him an IV. After four attempts at sticking him with an IV they gave up. A combination of his chubby arms and legs, small veins due to lack of fluids and not wanting to lay still made it too difficult to find a vein. It was so hard for Bryce and I too watch. We feel so helpless as we sit and wait for him to improve. Today was very hard...he had a bad stretch this afternoon where he was in a lot of pain. We hope and pray this week is better. Presley is feeling good and doing well...thank gosh!!!

Still sick

Landen is still not feeling well. Today is the 4th day in a row with a temperature. The doctor said on Wednesday he thought it was an ear infection so we are treating him with antibiotics. Bryce came home last night from traveling and we went up together to check on him. As soon as I opened the door I could smell it. He got sick his bed. I felt so bad for him. Today Bryce stayed home with him. I hope and pray he gets better soon!

On a positive note...Presley is doing good at daycare. This is her third day and she seems to be adjusting well. I'm not doing too bad either at work. It will be good to get back into a routine again.

Happy New Year!!

Another year has come and gone....it's hard to believe 2007 is over. We rang in the new year at the Miller's house. It was a great party and we enjoyed spending it with our closest friends. Thanks again Travis and Jenny for hosting!

We were very blessed this year with Presley's arrival. She is our little angel sent from heaven. Presley continues to sleep through the night which has been wonderful.

It was so fun to watch Landen grow this year and pass through the various stages. He is now expanding his vocabulary on a daily basis. You have to watch what you say around him because many things get repeated. He didn't start off the new year to well as he woke up with a high fever today. We are trying to control it with Motrin, however tonight it hit 103.8...which is very scary. Before he went to bed it went down a bit. I hope tomorrow he is feeling much better.
